Vision
TechLabs is a learning accelerator for technology skills. As a non-profit organization, we dream of a world full of digital shapers. With a pioneering new design of a learning journey, we create a new community of tech-savvy individuals who approach the problems of our time with a digital mindset.
What you get from TechLabs...
- As a TechLabs web development/ data science/ AI mentor, you will be part of our ambitious tech community of volunteers and are welcome to participate in our regular meetings, such as talks, workshops, or socials, in which you might even learn something yourself.
- You get to know interesting people and can expand your network among curious students and experienced professionals who want to make a difference.
- Experience for yourself the gratitude of your mentees: digital skills are extremely helpful in almost any profession. As a mentor, you actively help others to master these valuable skills and on top of that, you have plenty of opportunities to grow yourself.
So, what will you do at TechLabs as a Mentor?
- You take an active part in the project ideation phase to help the Techies define a clear project vision
- In the project phase (12 weeks) you regularly coach your project team, using your expertise to help them progress with their project
- Extra: You give feedback on the current track and input for possible exercises
- Key requirements:
- Support via Slack for questions of our participants (answering availability usually < 24h)
- Weekly "check-in" during the project phase with your approx. 5-10 mentees, during which you either personally, via video call, or via slack inquire about the progress and help to overcome possible motivational or technical hurdles
- Presence at 2-3 of our meetings with the participants - in the best case you even feel like organizing a small workshop/lecture/etc. yourself in order to impart a new skill
